The victim, a man in his mid-20s whose identity has not officially been released, was driving south on Main Street at approximately 2:10 p.m. before losing control of his vehicle, a Honda Accord, and collided into the front of the building.
The man was pulled from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver was the vehicle’s only occupant, and the arena sustained serious damages, according to News 12 Connecticut.
Officials say speed was a major factor in this accident, according to News 12.
